Sturdy for the price Jul 07, 2010 I wanted a tripod that i didn't have to bend over to look thru. It is a tall tripod, but NOT compact though. Made well for the price.
Great value Jun 17, 2010 Had this for 3 years. Only used it for light use and has held up beautifully. Best value for the money. It's not professional grade construction and the locking mechanism for the tilt angles sometimes lacks the friction needed to hold a DSLR in place when the tilt approaches 90 degrees. So I've had to anticipate the amount of sag, tighten it down in that position, peek thru the view finder, adjust, lather rinse repeat. That's the one star off the rating. Otherwise, a nice and tall tripod, lightweight, & and fairly well constructed...I haven't found a better value. Perfect for bringing along on outings.
It just works! May 25, 2010 For a new DSLR photographer, this is ideal. Costs 20% or less of a full fledged tripod and works pretty well in all situations. You just have to be a little careful about using it as the top parts are plastic. Weight/height wise, it is as good as any other. Very happy about the purchase.
Great Tripod, great value May 15, 2010 I bought this tripod for a vacation trip driving and hiking around iceland. There we encoutered wind, sand, ash, snow and ice. The tripod was wonderful. It has a full feature set with levels, a carry bag, quick release mount etc. Obviously, it is not a professional grade tripod but for me, a guy shooting vacation pictures with his Nikon D50 it worked great. I even was able to do some nice HDR which required 3 steady shot sets.
I am quite pleased with my purchase.
everything I need May 14, 2010 Being an amateur photographer, this tripod does what i need at a cost that not hard to deal with. yes its far from a professional but for this price it works fine. I have only used it a few times and found it easy to set up and to use. I like the handle it has to carry it and with the shoe it makes it very a snap to remove my D40 nikon. Have used it primarily with my longer lens's and have had no stability problems. At 6'2'' and a sore back i didn't need to be leaning over all the time to take a picture.
