very good camera Jun 14, 2010 The main thing that I do not like about this tiny camera is that it is not SLR. I cannot see enough of what will be in the frame to frame a photo. That remains true for me for the early stages of zooming; and the slighly larger screen of the next model would not be enough better for me. I have to trust the amazing resolution to crop and resize later. The tiny size is also slow and tedious for me to handle without smudging the screen or shifting a setting button. I'm moving around in rather rough terrain, using a tripod. The lightness and size can have some advantages. Not having to fool with a light meter is nice; but some of the images are over-exposed, and I have not learned to use the iA options. With medium resolution for 3x2 aspect, I'm gettting 35 photos with internal memory, and with flash off have not recharged the battery yet. None of the bundled software has even been loaded, so no comments on that.
Not being able to pay for a digital SLR, I am very pleased with this one and would not trade it for another small one. Some photos have been added at [..] for you to see by the dates.

Go for a Sony Jun 13, 2010 I've had this camera for just over a year. It's very easy to use and has a nice menu of photo taking options, but the photos aren't great. Last week I was walking in the house and dropped in and now it won't turn on - it's just completely dead. It's not like I dropped it from a great distance - it was just from my hand to the floor. Makes me think the construction isn't great.
My father has a Sony CyberShot DSCW170 and the photos it takes are amazing. I would recommend that and will buy a Sony for my next camera.
Best camera I've ever owned May 27, 2010 I did not purchase this camera from Amazon, rather from a local camera shop. However, I need to tell you that this camera is really fantastic. I have been a traditional 35mm user (OK point and shoot) for many years and feared the transition to digital because of the menus and sub menus to refine my photos. I've tried to use digital cameras that were not my own and always manged to mix up the settings! The Panasonic DMC-TZ4 is very easy to use and dare I say "Intuitive". Photo quality is sharp and I'm very pleased with my purchase. It has been dropped twice from waist level and survived - one year old and operating great. You should not be disappointed!
Small and Powerful May 06, 2010 The camera is small, light weight, but it is a solid construction. It has a 10x optical zoom which is very useful for taking pictures of animals in nature or objects or people at large distance. It also has a wide angle, which allows to get everybody in the picture, even in a small room. The macro settings allow for sharp focusing at very short distance, e.g. close up of a blossom. In off state, the lens is nicely protected with an automatic lens cover. Three different USB connectors allow for hooking it up to pretty much everything. I like it.
One of the best point and shoots!!! Feb 01, 2010 I own a Nikon 5600 point and shoot and was satisfied with it... Later I upgraded to an entry level SLR (Nikon D60)..
However, it was not possible for me to take the D60 everywhere and so was in need of a point n shoot that could give me good pictures and a good optical zoom in any lighting conditions..
After reading a lot of reviews about the Tz4K I finally bought one...
I am very satisfied with the purchase
