this is a great walkman to use if your not into downloading music Jul 13, 2010 its a wonderful walkman and the people on amazon who sold it to me were great. it arrived promptly and it looked brand new even though it was refurbished.
most of the time the reception is great. and if it isnt i just change the station. it has alot of preset channnels so you can just flick a button and you have another station. but the majority of the time the reception is great!
i use it when i work out in the gym and walking and i cannot workout without them. it only uses one battery so its nice that it conserves on batteries.

Disappointing radio Jul 05, 2010 How complicated could this radio be?
I bought it in April and already the radio drops out all the time. It drives me crazy because I work in radio and listen to it a lot when I am walking around the neighborhood with my dogs. The radio worked ok until last week when it would just abruptly stop. I changed the battery, it did not make a difference. I put the old battery back, it would work for a few minutes and stop again with this high pitched buzz.
Would like to return it, but do not know if I can.
Long battery life and good AM reception Jun 28, 2010 This was a present for my boyfriend who listens to sports radio while he works stocking shelves. He couldn't find a radio that received good signals in the area he worked in. I read the good reviews on this radio and ordered it for him. He loves it. He says he not only has great reception on the stations he already listened to, he says he's found a few more stations that he couldn't get before. I also bought him a rechargable battery and he only has to recharge it every other week (he listed to it on average 20-30 hours per week).
AM reception a little spotty Jun 26, 2010 I purchased this radio to listen to AM radio while working outside at different locations during the day. There is a lot of AM station overlap/interferrence at different times of day and at different locations, whether you are in local or long distance mode, in the Metro Phoenix area. FM reception is excellent. The AM station isolation could be improved but otherwise an excellent product.

Short life span, poor product for Sony Jun 21, 2010 The problem with this model is that the insert hole for the headphone jack becomes rusted after about 6 months use and you lose sound in one of the ear pieces. Perhaps because I only use them outdoors. Because of a lack of good quality products I have wasted money on 4 of this same model. For every one the same thing happens.
When you plug the headphone in the hold it does not give a solid reception and breaks off. This is about the most annoying thing for a runner. I upgraded to the Sony "water resistant" model and sure enough the same problem. After a few months only one ear has sound. Everything else about this model is fine. However after wasting my money on four I decided to find a new model.
